TR Drivers Club - NATIONAL WEEKEND

Shocking as it may seem the TR Drivers Club National weekend is almost upon us again. This event is possibly the biggest TR7 centric event in the UK and is the curtain raiser to the Club season - preceding most other club nationals.

This year, to mark the event, Bernie Ecclestone and the Formula 1 guys have elected to have their UK jamboree on the same weekend (July 10th & 11th). Apparently Michael Schumacher is a big fan of the Triumph Acclaim but is now thinking about moving into the wedge world and may pop along on Sunday if he gets finished early. Unfortunately the BMW Triumph F1 car will not be ready for this race, in fact they've denied such a project exists.

Well what about the event? For those that have never attended a National Weekend then now is your time to start! Saturday is the day to join in on the convoy run - some 10 years ago there were in excess of 25 TR7's on the run, last year this was nearer 6 so come on... slip on your driving gloves and fall in line. It would be great to see a good turnout once more! The run is a leisurely pootle around parts of Northampton and usually involves a stop at a local Inn for those who fancy an Britvic orange. This is not a rally and it's not a time trial! The idea being that we do a conga around the lanes and get our own back on those tractors.

On Sunday there will be a central display of the TR7's grandfathers and the concours is also held. In addition there will be a mock-up of a 1970 Rally Stop, complete with a replica rally car. There's the beer tent, of course, and a friendly atmosphere - and though the car is central to the weekend it's not a geeky auto-freak only event!

You don't have to be a member to attend and you don't have to book in advance, just turn up on the day. Billing charge an entrance fee and you can buy a day ticket or a w/end one, in addition the Club ask for payment to enter the club field which goes towards the costs associated with the weekend.

Hope to see you there.... TRisha pilot!

The flyer is available in colour, as a PDF file, it's only 0.5Mb so shouldn't take too long on a dial-up connection. Just click the link below or right-click and 'save as'.

(Note: This isn't the official TR Drivers Club, though it has been approved by the members of the TR Drivers Club committee)
